Grafting program

Questions and Answer

What is your grafting program?

Simply put, we are a custom grafting producer. We try to keep you in control throughout the whole production program.

What varieties do you graft?

We try to stay as flexible as possible.

Conifers: Bald Cypress, Cedar, Fir, Ginkgo, Larch, Redwoods, Scotch Pine, Spruce, White Pine

Deciduous: Horse Chestnut, Japanese Maple, Witch-Hazel,

We are all ways looking to expand our range. Give me a call or send me an email and I would be happy to discuss what we can do for you.

Scion wood is the limiting factor. I do carry a range of mother plants but not everything. I mainly have the more popular varieties on site but I am always adding. I also have access to several nearby botanical gardens that scion wood may be harvested from.

If I had plant “XYZ” can you graft it for me?

Simple answer is yes.

Long answer is, it would depend on whether I had the rootstock on hand. The rootstock needs to be the right girth to graft on to.

Patents, Royalty, Trademarks also have an effect on production. Licenses are possible to get but do add time and expense to the grafting program.

What height do you graft?

We graft high and low. We can also do the height that you prefer.

What is the minimum order?

Trial orders are fine. People like to see if this style/system, works for them.

When can I have my grafts?

We have two options

One year grafts (Quarts) can be collected / delivered in August or September of the year grafted.

Two year grafts (One gallons) can be collected / delivered the following year after they are grafted in the early fall or the following spring.

Do you carry surplus stock so I can try your Product?

We are a custom grafter. Surplus inventory is kept low but we do make an effort to have some varieties on hand but not necessarily all of the varieties.

If you have any further questions please call or email me I will be more than happy to answer your questions.
